OPEN-AIR SHOW AT HARCOURT PARK, UPPER HUTT, WELLINGTON (above)
From Karen Anderson: It was a brilliant show, a wonderful party atmosphere and I had lots of fun dancing. I love all their songs and it was great to sing along to them all too.
From Richard Porter: We enjoyed time out after a busy week to see the Searchers play to over 5,000 people, such a wonderful setting on a summer's day and night. I would love them to come back again next year. Please thank the lads for a great show.
From Glynis Ng: Everyone (from young to old) had a great time listening and dancing to such timeless music – bought back a lot of memories of my childhood in the sixties. Harcourt Park has a natural amphitheatre and was a location for the movie The Lord of the Rings where the evil wizard Saruman had his fortress. The Searchers played 90 minutes with several encores and by the end everyone was on their feet.
From Natasha Meynell: Just wanted to let you know that the guys were brilliant! We had a great night, the weather was nice (unlike last year) and there were loads of people up dancing. It was absolutely brilliant to have the guys back here again. They rocked in Upper Hutt and we loved them!
From Tony Graham: The concert, the guys, and the music were amazing. Even my 14-year old daughter hums along to their music now when I play them at home
From Dave & Lyne Morrell: What a fantastic concert. I reckon there were over 5,500 there. Their third show in a row at Harcourt Park, and the reception they got was unbelievable. Everyone we have spoken to after raved about the show. Give the boys our best wishes for the rest of the tour.
From Beth Manning: It was another wonderful concert - it amazes me how they seem to just get better and better each year they play here. Frank, John, Spencer and Eddie all seem to love the gig, the atmosphere was pretty amazing.
And finally from Chris & Larry of Eclipse, the support group that night:
It was an honour to perform at the Upper Hutt concert as the support band for The Searchers, and a pleasure to meet and chat with them and their sound engineer, a great bunch of guys. It is something that we will never forget.
THE STAMPEDE BAR, PAPAKURA, AUCKLAND
From Glenn Root: It was brilliant, a fantastic night. I grew up with the Searchers music in England and then New Zealand so it was a really special night for me.
AUCKLAND HARBOUR FESTIVAL
From Joe McDermott: As usual they were fantastic. I really enjoyed the show.
From Ron and Gail Smith: What more can we say but...."BRILLIANT". The show down on the waterfront was just that. A great crowd and very enthusiastic.
From John Cardwell: It was like I was transported back to 1964 and I was 14 all over again. The band was magic in the Auckland sunshine, belting out their hits and getting the crowd on their feet dancing, singing along and waving their hands in the air. Please pass on to the guys my compliments for a great afternoon's entertainment. They were a vital part of my youth and their show made this 58 year old very happy.
SKY CITY THEATRE, AUCKLAND
From Richard Serra: What a fantastic night with the Drifters kicking the show off as well. I worked out it was over 40 years since I last saw the Searchers in Auckland on tour with the Rolling Stones. An excellent night's entertainment.
From Michael Keesing: Another absolutely incredible concert by The Searchers here at Sky City. They were incredible.
